I've been writing since pretty much forever, which is ironic 'cause I'm Dyspraxic which basically means my handwriting isn't very good (read: bloody awful). After a few false starts at college, I settled into a Media Production course, which I'm now just five months or so from finishing and going to university to study screenwriting or creative writing (still working that though, so can't say specifically what or where).
I guess I like writing because it gives me control, which is something I've never really had much of (it comes from being a younger brother). I've always been a bit scared to admit that though because I always thought that meant I had some kind of God complex thing, which I could really do without - people think I'm nuts enough already thank-you very bloomin' much!
In terms of interests and hobbies, I used to do trampolining and basketball until about 5ish years ago, so I'm quite partial to a game of ball when the oppertunity arises, not that it has recently. I'm also an avid DVD and book collector, to the point of panic over just how I'm going to lug all of said books and DVDs to uni, not to mention how and where I'm going to store them! I'm a particular fan of sci-fi/supernatural things, and as such the bulk of my collection is stuff like Supernatural, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Heroes. I am also quite partial to crime procedural dramas such as Bones and the CSI franchise (my favourite's New York). In terms of books, there are many, many series I like, but particular favourite authors are Jim Butcher (known for The Dresden Files series), Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, The Power of Five/The Gatekeepers (if you're American), as well as TV dramas like Foyle's War and Collision) and Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians as well as The Kane Chronicles and a sequel series to Percy Jackson which, when combined with the film adaptation of The Lightning Thief, coming President's Day (which is when exactly?) 2010 makes a triumvirate of things I CAN'T WAIT for from him.
